Merfat El-Mansi studied Electronics and Computer Science at the Technical University of Vienna (TU Wien) and graduated in 2012 with Dipl.Ing. in Computer Science , TU Wien. Her master thesis focused on GUI for smart elevator for disabled people, based on building automation, face recognition, and OPC client/ server design.

At the moment, she is working as software engineer in UNODC  and  registered as Ph.D. student in TU Graz. Her current research focuses on AI for  Software Engineering Education integrating the fields of Artificial Intelligence (specifically, Recommender Systems and Machine Learning), Education Platforms, and Software Engineering.
