Martin Stettinger studied Software Development and Business Economics at Graz University of Technology and graduated in 2013 as MSc. with honors. He received his PhD in informatics in 2016 with honors. At the moment he is Senior Researchers at the Institute of Software Technology at Graz University of Technology. The research focus of DI Dr. Stettinger is in the field of recommender systems and include recommendation-supported e-Learning, human decision making and intelligent and highly personalized software systems. These topics include amongst others recommendation technologies for group decision tasks, different aspects of human learning and decision making behaviour as well as different methods of knowledge acquisition and AI technologies such as model-based diagnosis. He published over 70 publications at international workshops, conferences and journals. He has long-term experience in software projects, both in development as well as management aspects (including agile software development processes). He gained special skills in the area of mobile devices, Web-programing and Web-applications. In the context of University projects, he gained long term experience on project acquisition and coordination – examples thereof are OpenReq (Horizon 2020 EU Project), FinReq (FFG Project), ELearning projects in Public Administration, Configurators for Mass Customization as well as projects in cooperation with Ford Motors. In 2014 DI Dr. Stettinger was nominated for the Houska Award on “MyLife: Intelligent Consistency Management for the Configuration of Financial Services” together with Alpen-Adria University (AAU), SelectionArts and Wüstenrot.
